Love these. I didn't notice until I saw the hood that it was an R/T. Good eye!

Ah yes...only released as a 1998.5 model, presumably because they had extra Durango engines made.
I saw a bunch of these get sacrificed when Cash For Clunkers was a thing a few years ago. My parents live very close to a massive dealership that was taking them in left and right, and they had a section of their parking lot devoted to them that was right out by the rear entrance. The handful of these 5.9 Limited's I saw in the mix were the only ones I remember being at all sad over.

Nice catch! It has cataracts like mine.
Only 1% of ZJ's were 5.9's. Granted, there were a ton of ZJ's made. I love my 5.9 and have vowed to keep it on the road as long as possible. Keeping it stock ride height - currently the 5.9 Rocker Panel covers are off because I am reconditioning them.
Here is mine chillin' in a little different environment. It boogies and loves the premium gasolina.

The grill sticking slightly out is the bigger give away, just fyi.

5.9's hold a special place in my heart. Glad you spotted it! Wolf in a boxy sheep's clothing! Random snap of the rigs - consistent with my choices of color.

Grill, Louvers, Rocker Panel Covers, Exhaust Tip (also seen on the later Overlands), Wheels and the lower slung roof rack are the exterior tip-offs
Interior options were minimal on the 5.9. All of them came loaded in the Agate Black interior with the darker wood trim. Extra Speaker bar in the back with tire cover specific to the 5.9. Supple or Rippled leather in the interior with a 'leather' gear shifter. Leather covered center console and a hidden little gem in the rear - folding down center armrest!

Seems like a sawzall would make quick work of it although it might scratch up your rim.

You can sort of see the honeycomb grille in there, too (in addition to the wheels, the hood vents, and the badge on the door).

The Pick and Pull in Stockton, CA currently has two of these - I didn't know they even existed until I stumbled onto one last month.
